The name Tehillah is a Hebrew word that means “praise” or “song of praise.” It comes from the Hebrew root “halal”, which means to praise, shine, or boast.
And for us, it’s more than a name – It’s a commitment to helping every individual find their voice, live with purpose, and feel truly valued in every stage of life.
Tehillah Shelter Foundation’s beneficiaries encompass a diverse group of individuals in need, including those living with physical disabilities, psychological challenges, mental health issues, and elderly people who require support and care.
Additionally, the foundation extends its services to individuals struggling with drug addiction, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to aid in their recovery.
To create a care environment where each person is seen, heard, and uplifted - emotionally, spiritually, and practically.
To deliver safe, respectful, and empowering care that meets Care Inspectorate standards while staying true to our founding values: honour, compassion, voice, and holistic wellbeing.
Tehillah Shelter Foundation was born from love, not the kind found in grand gestures, but the quiet, powerful kind that shows up every day to serve others.
It began with the memory of a man, a father whose life was defined by compassion, humility, and a deep commitment to helping people, no matter their walk of life. His kindness left a mark not just on his children, but on everyone he encountered.
On December 11, 2017, his legacy was honoured in the most meaningful way possible. His children – Mr. Emmanuel Paul, Mrs. Joy Amuta, Barr, Agbo Franklin, and other like-hearted trustees came together to create something enduring: Tehillah Shelter Foundation. It wasn’t just a project. It was a promise — to carry forward the values he lived by, to become a shelter and a source of hope for the vulnerable, the elderly, and the forgotten.

Tehillah Shelter Foundation is a non-profit charity NGO dedicated to providing the highest standards of personal care, reliability and friendly service to clients, in all age groups over 18, who are living in their own homes, and who may be disadvantaged because of ill health, disability, have a language barrier, homelessness, and cultural differences.
